Midland Homes for Sale
Midland and North Carolina is located in southern Cabarrus County about 30 minutes to downtown Charlotte. It gets its name because of its location approximately halfway between Charlotte and Oakboro. This small community is home to less than 4000 residents and most Midland residents own their own homes.
One unique feature about Midland is its pronunciation. While most people would assume it is pronounced ‘MID-lind’ it’s actually pronounced ‘MID-LAND’ with emphasis being given on both syllables. This quaint little town began as a railroad town in 1913 and incorporated most recently in 2000. It was essentially an agricultural town with growth of Charlotte to the west providing farming and produce to downtown. Today, Midland is a bedroom community for those commuting to work nearby in Charlotte and Concord.
